Naples Harbor Cruise

Summer along the gulf coast of Southwest Florida can be hot, humid and long. But it's really not hotter or more humid than a lot of the country. We plan day trips to make it more bearable. Recently, we took the harbor cruise on the Naples Princess. Naples, Florida is a very upscale city with spectacular homes, classy stores and lots of restaurants.

Downtown Naples:

The harbor cruise takes you past some spectacular homes and out into the gulf. You can sit inside where it's air conditioned or you can sit outside on a covered deck. That's what we did - because the whole point was to be outside, but not be hot! If we wanted to stay inside in air conditioning, we'd have stayed home :).

Here we are on the boat deck, nice and cool in the shade:

Just a couple of the spectacular homes on the harbor:

We were lucky enough to have two dolphins decide to play in the boat's wake. What a treat to see them leap and dive behind the boat!

Afterward, we went to Pincher's for a late lunch - it's right near where you catch the cruise. We'd seen the signs for Pincher's and wanted to try it, and I am pleased to report that the food was good!
