We are travelers and travel bloggers. Here at this blog, we'll tell you about places we've been that we think will be of interest to other travelers. Whether on the road in our RV, taking a non-RV vacation or simply investigating our local surroundings, we are constantly discovering new places and things to do, and we love sharing those discoveries with you.

Happy Trails!

K is for KOA

While on the road, we've stayed at lots of different kinds of campgrounds. There are privately owned campgrounds, which typically have more amenities like water, sewer and electrical hook-ups, and sometimes cable and wifi. State and national park campgrounds may have no hook-ups at all, but most that we've stayed at have at least water and electrical.

KOAs are privately owned but part of the KOA franchise, so they have to abide by KOA standards. KOA campgrounds more often than not have the full range of amenities and tend to be a little higher priced. But sometimes, you just need to stay at a campground that's got everything and pay a little more for it!

We stayed at a number of KOAs, but many of them were just one-nighters so I don't remember them all or have pictures. But I do have pictures of the wonderful KOA in Santa Fe, NM.

SANTA FE, NM KOA

This is a REALLY nice KOA. The lots are level and have nice landscaping in between. There is a good store and absolutely beautiful shower and rest room facilities. The campground is outside of town in a location that is close to getting on and off major roads and close to grocery shopping and gas. This is where we spent our first week of RVing after bringing our new RV from Elkhart, Indiana back to NM and the owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful to us.

On my way to use the excellent showers here! Even though we had our own, the ones here were BIG and clean and nice.
