We are travelers and travel bloggers. Here at this blog, we'll tell you about places we've been that we think will be of interest to other travelers. Whether on the road in our RV, taking a non-RV vacation or simply investigating our local surroundings, we are constantly discovering new places and things to do, and we love sharing those discoveries with you.

Happy Trails!

E is for Elkhart

Our Dreamcatcher RV was built by a fairly new RV manufacturer, Nexus RV, in Elkhart, Indiana. Elkhart is kind of the RV Capital of the world, because many RV manufacturers and their suppliers have operations there. We picked up our brand new RV from Nexus in early April 2012 and spent the first few nights in their parking lot. It was all very new to us, so we wanted the comfort of being able to run inside and ask questions!

After a few days, we moved to the Elkhart Campground. It's a nice campground with large, level spaces and lots of trees. It's run by a nice family that was very kind and helpful to us Newbies.

Elkhart is home to the RV Hall of Fame and a short drive to places of interest like Notre Dame and Shipshewana.

Here we are with the Dreamcatcher in the Nexus parking lot

  2. My parents really like to have trailers. They want to be able to unhook it and then drive in just their truck/SUV wherever they are visiting. But this looks like a nice RV! We always go to the RV show when it is in town. If you have time you should stop by and check out my E post.

  4. Looks like a nice RV. My parents used to have a travel trailer and I always enjoyed when we went out on excursions with it. I don't know how I'd take to the life now, but in my retirement I've considered the possibilities.

A couple of years ago we drove through Elkhart on a trip back east. Since I was aware of the RV industry there I made a point of looking for the companies as we passed them. I thought seeing these might pique my wife's interest some. Next thing is maybe going to one of the RV expos in our area next time they have one.
